The Kalai has several advantages over similar boards that really make it shine. Instead of working with all bamboo, it has a blend of bamboo and cross ply maple. The cross ply maple is used to stiffen the torsional flex of the board that plagues all bamboo boards. It also has a pre-tensioned composite that is substantially stiffer, and stronger than a traditional 'wet' layup of epoxy fiberglass. You can really feel the difference that this composite makes in the higher rebound flex.
41inch length and 10 inch width and comes with applied viscous grip tape.
This deck is really built for anything, carves like a dream, very controlled slides and is superior at downhill.
The deck has some scratches on the vinyl image but has nothing at all that could cause any unsafety, I have bombed huge hills with this and it was very chill. Only decided to sell because I am in need of cash but I will greatly miss this board.
The Randal R-I 42 degree 180mm trucks are great for high speed downhill and freeriding. With a 42 degree baseplate, you can expect to get more stability with the same bushing set up as you would with the 50 degree baseplate due to the reduced angle that the kingpin sits at.
